Moving Classics: Sonic Flux

Iceland, Norway, UK & Cyprus

Einkofi Production, with partners from UK (Curated Place), and Cyprus (Culturetones) secured funding from Creative Europe, Nordic Culture Point and Nordisk Kulturfond towards the end of 2019 to explore the concept of Displacement within the respective countries and invite artists to work in collaboration cross countries to create new works. Bringing researchers/anthropologists, producers, film makers/visual artists and composers/musicians together to shed light on this concept through historical events. Originally a two year project turned into an almost four years due to the Covid Pandemic and as it affected the pace of the project it gave the creative teams extra time to research, dig and think about their approach. The end results were six sonic films spanning from Svalbard in the North to Nicosia in Cyprus in the South, all focusing on displacement, sense of home and belonging.
The project came to an end spring 2023 with final reports finalised and approved but the legacy of the project lives on and some of the films have gone on to be selected by .International Film Festivals as per list below.
